About the Event Manager Job in Douala
The Event Manager will be responsible for supporting the operational design, planning, coordination and overall execution of the event, from the preparation phase through to the final evaluation.
The role requires someone who can coordinate multiple teams and priorities while ensuring a smooth participant experience, proper protocol and high-quality delivery by service providers.
The successful candidate will work closely with programme, communication, partnership, protocol and logistics teams to ensure that all aspects of the event are properly synchronized.
Key Responsibilities
The Event Manager will be responsible for:
- Designing and managing the event execution plan, including milestones, responsibilities, deadlines and tracking indicators.
- Coordinating logistics covering the venue, transportation, accommodation, catering, security, signage, reception, technical services and protocol.
- Structuring and monitoring the work plans of suppliers, subcontractors and operational partners.
- Preparing guest reception, movement, installation, ceremony and closing procedures.
- Coordinating VIP guests, speakers, moderators, delegations and partner institutions.
- Ensuring alignment between the editorial programme, communication activities, partner visibility and on-site execution.
- Establishing a risk management system and handling unexpected situations.
- Monitoring operational commitments, deliverables and quality compliance.
- Documenting lessons learned and preparing recommendations for future editions.
Expected Deliverables
The successful candidate will be expected to produce and manage:
- A comprehensive event execution plan and reverse schedule.
- A responsibility matrix and task-tracking tool.
- A detailed logistics plan.
- A protocol and VIP reception note.
- An operational schedule for each event sequence.
- A final execution, performance and recommendations report.
Qualifications and Experience

- A Bac +4/5 degree in event management, communication, public relations, project management, hospitality, marketing or a related field.
