About the Opportunity

The MTN Cameroon Manager Service Management position is a senior technology role responsible for ensuring reliable, efficient and customer-focused delivery of Technology services across IT and Network operations.

The successful candidate will lead Service Management strategy and operations, oversee service quality, manage technology assets, coordinate vendors and drive continuous improvement. The position also requires close collaboration with MTN Group Technology, Group Fintech Technology and GSM Opco Technology teams.

This is particularly relevant for experienced IT professionals with strong knowledge of ITIL, service delivery, technology operations, cloud technologies, service quality and enterprise technology environments.

Key Responsibilities

The Manager will be expected to:

  • Develop and implement the Service Management strategy.
  • Lead Service Management operations and service improvement initiatives.
  • Establish and monitor service delivery standards and KPIs.
  • Manage Incident, Problem, Change, Release and Configuration Management.
  • Drive ITIL implementation and identify process gaps.
  • Manage Technology, Software and Licensing assets.
  • Oversee vendors, managed services and technology contracts.
  • Monitor service quality, performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop technology service automation and knowledge-management systems.
  • Manage service transition risks.
  • Lead and develop the Service Management team.
  • Establish training and skills-development programs.
  • Manage the professional services budget and optimize costs.
  • Improve vendor response times and incident escalation processes.
  • Maintain strong relationships between Technology and internal business customers.

Education and Experience Requirements

Candidates should have a 3-year degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline. An MBA is advantageous.

The position requires 4–6 years of total experience in a similar position, including at least two years in a managerial role.

Experience in telecommunications, banking or fintech is preferred. Candidates should also have experience involving IT architecture, information design, data modelling and enterprise technology environments.

Knowledge of cloud technologies and architecture disciplines is also required.

Experience working within a multinational or global enterprise, particularly with emerging markets, is considered an advantage.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The strongest candidates will combine technical expertise with leadership and business-management capabilities. This role is suited to professionals who understand how IT and Network services support business objectives and customer experience.

Strong candidates should be comfortable managing teams, vendors, budgets, service-level performance, technology assets and continuous improvement programs.
