I. Job Purpose

Ecobank Cameroon is recruiting a Treasury Custody and Business Optimization Officer, based in Douala and ready to operate across the national territory. The selected candidate will:

• Safeguard and manage securities and other assets of mutual funds under the Bank’s custody.
• Oversee the revaluation of asset management portfolios.
• Recruit new investment portfolios for the bank.
• Maintain strong relationships with mutual funds and the financial regulator (COSUMAF) to ensure seamless operations.
• Optimize treasury operations by enhancing resource utilization, processes, and internal controls.

II. Key Responsibilities

• Review all sales and purchases of assets, cash reconciliations, and ensure share/unit transfers are accurately reflected for the right investors.
• Ensure precise and updated records for each mutual fund unit holder in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Confirm and send security release notifications to fund managers.
• Process all operational instructions from mutual funds efficiently.
• Provide support to the Custody and Treasury unit as required.
• Uphold and execute the regulatory custodian responsibilities in accordance with COSUMAF Regulation No. 1 dated July 21, 2022.

III. Team and Relationship Management

Internal Support:

• Collaborate with the custody and treasury teams to achieve operational targets.

External & Internal Stakeholder Engagement:

• Maintain strategic and operational relationships with:
  • Fund Managers
  • Fund Trustees
  • Clients
  • Internal Control
  • COSUMAF (Financial Market Regulator)
  • CRCT

IV. Job Profile

Education:

• Minimum Bac+3 in Finance, Banking, Management, Marketing, or a related field.

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a financial institution, ideally in treasury, asset management, or custody.

Required Skills:

• Strong analytical and negotiation skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Client relationship development and portfolio marketing skills
• Ability to perform under pressure and meet strict deadlines
• Familiarity with regulatory reporting and financial operations

Knowledge:

• Solid understanding of COSUMAF regulations and CEMAC financial/money market practices
• Working knowledge of Excel and securities accounting
