Eligibility Requirements for the OAPI Engineer Patent Examiner Job

Main Responsibilities of the OAPI Engineer Patent Examiner Job

Under the supervision of patent examiners, successful candidates will be responsible for:

Conducting Patent Examination

  • Performing technical examination of patent applications.
  • Examining utility models and certificates of addition according to the Bangui Agreement.

Patent Classification and Research

  • Classifying patent applications using the International Patent Classification (IPC) system.
  • Conducting prior-art and state-of-the-art searches.
  • Retrieving technical information from databases and specialized sources.
