I. Job Purpose

The Branch Manager is responsible for driving exceptional business performance by leading a branch team in achieving financial targets, ensuring operational excellence, and delivering outstanding sales and customer service.


II. Key Responsibilities

Business Performance

  • Develop and deliver approved branch and portfolio budgets.
  • Benchmark operational efficiencies against industry and Group standards.
  • Analyse and identify new business opportunities through market insights and MIS reports.
  • Maintain detailed performance records for all branch metrics and KPIs.
  • Strictly manage costs to achieve the branch’s cost-to-income ratio targets.

Relationship Management & Customer Service

  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients and local influencers.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with a focus on client retention and wallet share growth.
  • Resolve customer queries and complaints, ensuring minimum re-occurrence.
  • Achieve customer service benchmarks, including 99% uptime for ATMs and other devices.

People Management & Teaming

  • Select, appraise, and manage branch staff, ensuring KPI delivery.
  • Drive staff development through training and performance management.
  • Implement Ecobank’s transformation plan and lead branch team engagement.
  • Foster a high-performing team culture through recognition and empowerment.

Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with operational risk and control measures, including KYC, anti-money laundering, and safety regulations.
  • Conduct audits and regular spot checks on high-risk processes.
  • Lead investigations and reporting of fraud or losses.
  • Maintain adherence to Ecobank’s operating and risk policies.

III. Job Scale

Reports to the Area Manager Littoral II.


IV. Skills & Experience Required

Education

  • HND, License, or Master’s degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Law, Marketing, or a related field.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years in the banking sector, with at least 3 years in a similar leadership role.
  • Certification in risk management (e.g., ITB) is an advantage.

Competencies

  • Strong business acumen and sales expertise.
  • Excellent customer service and networking abilities.
  • Effective planning, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in risk management practices.
