Chef Comptable Job at ECTA-BTP
The company is seeking an experienced Chef Comptable to strengthen its team in Yaoundé. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising accounting, financial and tax management while ensuring close monitoring of projects and construction sites.
This is a full-time position and offers an opportunity for an experienced accountant to take on significant responsibility within an engineering and BTP environment.
Key Responsibilities
The Chef Comptable will oversee several important areas of financial management, including:
- Managing general, analytical and budgetary accounting.
- Applying OHADA accounting standards.
- Preparing financial statements and monitoring cash flow.
- Managing taxation and understanding applicable Cameroonian tax requirements.
- Monitoring accounting for contracts and projects.
- Tracking project and construction-site costs and analysing variances.
- Managing invoicing procedures for public contracts.
- Monitoring retention amounts, start-up advances and payment statements.
- Preparing reliable financial reports for management.
- Working closely with project and mission managers.
- Supervising and coordinating the accounting team.
The position therefore requires both strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to understand the financial realities of BTP projects and public contracts.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should hold a Bac+4 or Bac+5 qualification in Accounting, Finance, Management or Audit. A professional accounting qualification, or training toward an accounting expertise qualification, will be considered an advantage.
Applicants should also have at least four to seven years of accounting experience, including a minimum of two years in a position involving responsibility or supervision.
Experience in the BTP, engineering or public procurement sectors is strongly preferred. Knowledge of English is also considered an advantage.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent analytical ability, attention to detail, financial discipline and the capacity to supervise an accounting team.
Technical Skills Required
ECTA-BTP is looking for a professional with strong knowledge of accounting and financial management. Candidates should be comfortable working with advanced Excel and an ERP or accounting system such as Sage, Odoo or SAP.
Knowledge of OHADA accounting standards, Cameroonian taxation and social legislation will be particularly important for the role.
Because the position involves project and construction accounting, applicants should also understand cost tracking, budget monitoring, contract accounting and financial reporting.
