About the Data Analyst Role
The Data Analyst will play an important role in helping Striving For All make better use of its organizational data. The successful candidate will combine analytical skills with technical knowledge to transform raw data into useful insights and reliable reporting.
The position goes beyond traditional data analysis. It includes responsibilities related to business intelligence, data architecture, database design, data integration, data governance, and reporting.
The candidate will work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and will be expected to translate organizational data requirements into practical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
The Data Analyst will:
- Analyze data from multiple sources and provide actionable insights.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, Google Data Studio, or similar platforms.
- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Support the design of data models, databases, data warehouses, and centralized data repositories.
- Recommend appropriate approaches for storing and organizing organizational data.
- Analyze data flows between Salesforce and other systems.
- Recommend appropriate system integration solutions.
- Support integrations involving APIs, ETL/ELT processes, automation tools, middleware, and similar technologies.
- Identify duplicate, inconsistent, or incomplete data.
- Detect integration gaps and recommend improvements.
- Clean, transform, validate, and prepare data from different systems.
- Promote data quality, consistency, governance, privacy, and security.
- Maintain documentation covering data sources, schemas, data models, data flows, and reporting processes.
- Work with technical and non-technical teams to identify data requirements.
- Present findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Applicants for this Data Analyst position should have a Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Candidates should also have:
- Strong experience with Power BI, Tableau, Google Data Studio, or similar BI tools.
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Experience working with relational databases.
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
- Knowledge of data modeling and database design.
- Understanding of data architecture principles.
- Experience with data cleaning, transformation, validation, and integration.
- Knowledge of APIs, ETL/ELT processes, system integration, and data pipelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Knowledge of data quality, governance, privacy, and security principles.
- Ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Professional-level English proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
The following skills and experience would be an advantage:
- Experience with data warehouses or data lakes.
- Experience with centralized reporting databases.
- Experience integrating CRM systems, databases, and BI platforms.
- Familiarity with BigQuery, Azure, AWS, Snowflake, or similar cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of MuleSoft, Zapier, Make, Workato, or similar integration platforms.
- Familiarity with Salesforce data structures or APIs.
- Experience with Python, R, or another data-focused programming language.
- Experience working in nonprofit, healthcare, education, or other mission-driven organizations.
