Key Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts in French and English.
- Identify and mitigate contractual and legal risks.
- Review agreements related to oilfield services and equipment.
- Handle master service agreements, pricing agreements, tenders, bids, NDAs, subcontracts, software licenses, and other commercial agreements.
- Ensure consistency between French and English contractual documentation.
- Provide practical legal advice to business stakeholders and leaders.
- Support government contracting activities.
- Manage outside counsel and related legal operations.
- Report on key legal performance metrics.
- Support a global business across multiple teams and jurisdictions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Law from an accredited university or college.
- 5+ years of experience negotiating commercial contracts.
- At least 2 years of experience in the oil & gas industry.
- Proven experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts in French and English.
- Applicable license to practice law.
- Fluency in both French and English, written and spoken.
- Experience supporting a global business.
- Strong understanding of contract law and legal risk exposure.
- Ability to advise business leaders on legal and contractual matters.
- Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple matters simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to simplify complex legal issues and communicate them clearly.

The ideal candidate is a bilingual commercial contracts lawyer with substantial experience in contract management and negotiation.
