Key Responsibilities

The National Security Officer will:

  • Monitor and analyse the security situation across Cameroon.
  • Support security risk assessments and mitigation measures.
  • Assist with security and contingency plans, emergency procedures, and evacuations.
  • Conduct security assessments of offices, field locations, vehicles, warehouses, and staff residences.
  • Provide security briefings and support travel and movement security.
  • Monitor and report security incidents affecting IOM personnel, assets, and operations.
  • Support access control, guard-force management, and security systems.
  • Coordinate with UNDSS, government security authorities, local authorities, and other security stakeholders.
  • Support the IOM warden system, communications testing, and security alerts.
  • Provide technical guidance to security assistants, guards, wardens, and other relevant personnel.
