Job Summary

The Programs and Research Officer will support the day-to-day implementation of ELHEAS environmental and lung health activities in Douala and surrounding communities.

The position combines project coordination, field research, community engagement, data analysis, monitoring and evaluation, grant writing, logistics, and reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Support the planning and day-to-day implementation of project activities according to the workplan and budget.
  • Organize and facilitate community sensitization sessions, workshops, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Conduct field visits to collect, verify, and enter air-quality and respiratory-health data.
  • Maintain accurate project records, including activity trackers, attendance sheets, and field reports.
  • Liaise with community leaders, health facilities, and local authorities.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and donor progress reports.
  • Analyse primary data collected through ELHEAS research activities.
  • Prepare manuscripts for research article publications.
  • Support monitoring and evaluation activities.
  • Conduct data-quality checks and follow-up visits.
  • Coordinate logistics for training sessions, outreach campaigns, and field missions.
  • Coordinate and contribute to funding proposals and grant-writing activities.
  • Contribute to the development of information, education, and communication (IEC) materials.

Requirements and Qualifications

Education
