Senior Supply Chain Advisor Job in Cameroon

The Senior Supply Chain Advisor will play a strategic role in supporting the implementation of Cameroon’s integrated health supply chain vision through 2030. The position focuses on reducing stockouts, improving procurement and distribution systems, strengthening supply chain governance, and supporting the transition toward greater national ownership and self-reliance.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership and expert guidance to government institutions and health supply chain stakeholders. The advisor will also contribute to the implementation of the USG-Government of Cameroon bilateral agreement and support the transition of procurement and distribution responsibilities to national systems.

According to the job description, the position will be housed within the Ministry of Health, specifically the DPML, and will provide technical guidance to key institutions including CENAME, NACC, NMCP, NTP, Zoonosis, DLMEP, DPML, and the UCS.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Supply Chain Advisor will be responsible for providing strategic and technical leadership across Cameroon’s public health supply chain system.

Key responsibilities include:

• Monitoring the commodities and supply chain components of the USG-Government of Cameroon Memorandum of Understanding.
• Supporting the update and implementation of the Strategic Plan for Strengthening Public Supply Chain of Health Products for 2026–2030.
• Providing technical guidance on the transition of procurement and distribution functions to the Government of Cameroon.
• Supporting the development of effective supply chain governance and accountability structures.
• Participating in national supply chain governance structures and technical working groups.
• Coordinating information sharing among supply chain technical assistance providers.
• Supporting the use of HIV, TB, and malaria supply chain data to anticipate stock shortages and prevent disruptions.
• Supporting innovative distribution models to improve supply chain performance.
• Providing technical assistance to CENAME to improve infrastructure and management protocols in line with WHO Good Storage and Distribution Practices.

Requirements for the Senior Supply Chain Advisor Position

Applicants interested in this Senior Supply Chain Advisor job in Cameroon should meet the following requirements:

• A Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Public Health, or Pharmacy.
• Alternatively, a Doctorate in Medicine or Pharmacy may be accepted.
• A relevant certification in health supply chain management or logistics is an advantage.
• At least 7 years of experience, primarily in health products supply chain management.
• Strong knowledge of the regulatory framework governing health products in Cameroon or a similar country.
• Experience with health products supply chain partnerships involving organizations such as the US Government, the Global Fund, or United Nations agencies.
• Strong knowledge of strategic and operational frameworks for health products supply chain management in Cameroon.
• Fluency in both French and English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, diplomacy, team management, and strategic planning skills.
